Group: We provide family centered, youth centered and adult centered art therapy sessions where participants share their collective life processes and resonate with emotional experiences.
One on One (individual): Take part in customized writing therapy sessions where participants re-encounter potent experiences in guided exercises.
Conferences: Youth and adult presenters speak on the impact of spoken word as a potent vehicle for art therapy
Film screenings: Short poem poem films become the backdrop for events focused on raising awareness about dire situations
Youth performances at Community Based Organization events: Young people advocate for other youth to share their stories and engage in the creative process of emotional and psychological healing
School presentations: Youth and adults poets speak and perform on topics such as bullying, body shaming, stress, heartbreak and substance abuse
Judiciary clients: We work with incarcerated youth and wards of the state to provide narrative therapy to those in dire situations
Led by nationally ranked performance poets
Focus on building life skills such as coping mechanisms, social emotional learning, self-efficacy building, positive body image, assertion
Navigate and give language to complex emotional states, in a safe and supportive group-writing environment.
Residencies can span 1 – 10 sessions depending on the needs of clients.
Longer residencies include performance and public speaking workshops
Residencies of 6 sessions and longer include a culminating event where participants and local professional poets share the stage.
